A very amusing post, Kathleen. Geese are notoriously territorial. Have a nice day.

Thank you Manuel

we have the Canadian geese all around the pond where we walk our dog, they're ok...they definitely hiss and protect their little ones. I like the chevron pattern and the honking too. It always catches me when I'm thinking of something.

The last photo! Ha ha! Oof, that second pic at 198. Ack, Halloween can be freaky. We love geese, but they’re grumpy and aggressive towards Cooper, who is just curious.

David Angel's avatar

They taste terrible and foie gras is disgusting so fly away, don’t come back

Don’t worry, I won’t be eating any of that anytime soon, never

When I was a child , the neighbors who owned a convenience store had some white geese and they were so mean. Couldn't go to the store to buy candies (two for a penny, can you imagine?) They would chase us on our way to school. Now, here at the park there are some Canada geese and are only nice if people feed them (which is forbitten for obvious reasons, but people do it anyway). I love to see them overhead and hear their honking. But, talk about the mess they make (excrements all over the place). First, I thought it was dog poop. You can hardly walk around the park. They should have poop bags. The second picture is spooky. Triggering for me.

Sorry about the second picture I should’ve put a warning

Thank you!

Sandy and I use to always walk in the local parks and watch the geese. She had a way with them and they often gathered around her . She even named some of them. One was named Beak, whose top beak was damaged. She could call his name and he'd come running from the other side of the park to her.

Kathleen Hobbs's avatar

Of course Sandy named them.

We often have geese on the pond by our house in Spain! Huge black ones. They open their wings to dry, and just stand there, looking like giant sculptures! No geese here in Suisse, but loads and loads of birds which I love to observe. They all have different personalities.

Spooky skeleton. He needs some shepherds pie!

Hugs,

Cesca xx

Cesca I also love birds, all kind of birds. Like I said, he really doesn’t have the stomach for it. I couldn’t resist.

You’re so funny my friend and stay away from geese, they’re mean! That second photo was a bit spooky 🍷
