MY BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE PATCH
My beautiful sunshine patch has dwindled.
Their vibrant colors are no more. In their place stands a tangle of branches heavy with seeds.
At first glance, I was saddened to see their beauty fade, realizing they would no longer shine beneath the bright sunshine.
Yet, instead of nourishing me with their beauty, they now provide substance for my little family of birds, of all kinds and colors.
Watching them flutter from branch to branch brings joy to my heart a gentle reminder that Mother Nature provides.
The sunflowers mirror our lives.
In our youth, in the spring and summer of our days, we grow and shine. And as we approach the fall and winter of life, we lose some of our luster and strength, but all is not lost. Our seeds remain carrying forward the promise of the next generation.
~~~~~I was inspired this quiet morning, as I looked out at my fading sunflower patch.Their once vibrant blooms had turned to seed and a flurry of birds gathered to feed. In that moment, I was reminded that beauty changes form and that even in fading there is giving and in every ending something continues on.
I love sunflowers, and cosmos. I took a little drive yesterday - I hadn't been able to really go anywhere for weeks, and I was going nuts. It was a beautiful day, and I drove about 20 minutes from our house, and nature is just so beautiful at the moment. All lush and mature, like us!! haha! Thank you for these lovely words. I'm sitting watching birds perform acrobatics on coconuts cut in half and filled with bird treats. I also have gaura all the way along my house, and it's beginning to go to seed, and the sparrows swing on its long stems and peck away. I love to watch them. I haven't seen the fox for a while - he must be busy, or walking around when I'm not looking! Big hugs, Cesca x
In every ending something does carry on. Beautiful sentiments, Kathleen. I love sunflowers, too. They are so happy, always smiling.
